Features

Sample Stability

FecalSwab® preserves collected specimens for 48h at room temperature or 72h at refrigerated temperature.9

Rectal and stool sampling

FecalSwab® can be used by medical staff to transfer a small quantity of sample from the primary stool collection container, or to directly collect a rectal swab.

Transport and preservation

FecalSwab® is an alternative to dry fecal containers and includes a non-nutritive transport and preservation medium.

Efficient Sample Collection

FecalSwab® kits contain a Copan flocked swab which has no internal core to trap the sample, allowing for rapid sample uptake and elution.

FDA-Cleared

FecalSwab® meets FDA clearance as a collection and transport system suitable for enteric pathogen recovery using traditional bacteriology culture. FecalSwab® is also in full compliance with CLSI M40-A2.9
