WASP®: GENERAL INFORMATION WASP® Overview 

Copan WASP®: Walk-Away Specimen Processor is a new and revolutionary system for automatic planting and streaking of microbiology samples. The breakthrough technology behind the WASP®, coupled with Copan ESwab, the only liquid transport swab system that allows automated processing, make the WASP® the first instrument of its kind to use a single universal platform to automatically plant and streak bacteriology specimens, including swabs, urine, feces or any liquid sample, regardless of the specimen’s container style or specimen type.

WASP® is a workhorse that can become the mainstay for specimen processing in a busy microbiology laboratory providing a much needed solution at a time of diminishing staff resources. It offers both high throughput capabilities for single specimen types, as well as tremendous flexibility to switch between a diversity of specimen types to deliver maximum up-time and value for the laboratory.
