Stuart Media, invented by Dr. R.D Stuart, was the first media for transporting clinical swab samples. Copan offers Stuart Medium in two different presentations: Liquid Stuart for Rapid Strep A antigen tests and for aerobic culture and Stuart Agar Gel for aerobic culture.

Liquid Stuart Medium Transport Swabs

Swabs immediately in direct contact with fluid-filled sponge:
the sponge is soaked with 1.0 ml of liquid transport medium that acts like a moisture reservoir.

No dry swab samples: the foam sponge holds enough medium for single or double swabs and its design will not slide or fall out during use

Available in regular size swab for throat, vaginal, wound and skin sample or minitip for pediatric sampling, ear, nose, threat eye, male urethral swab sampling.

Unique Venturi hourglass tube design prevents disintegration or breakdown of gel column during specimen transport and eliminates air bubbles harmful to fastidious bacteria

No glass ampoules to break, no seal or barriers to puncture or dry swabs

Maximum 5ml gel column affords maximum protection and improves sample viability.
