Non-Calibrated Loops

Non-Calibrated Loops are available in four sizes with internal diameters (Ø) of 2, 3, 4 or 5mm
and supplied in tubes containing 25 loops.

Calibrated Loops

Two volumetric size loops are available, 1µL and 10µL for performing quantitative specimen cultures such as urianalysis. Accuracy conforms to FDA Drill Bit Method. Loops are sold individually and are supplied with a Certificate of Calibration.

Loop Handles

Copan offers a choice of light weight aluminum and heavier Nickel-plated brass handle for use with the range replaceable NiChrome wire loops. The shaft of the loops handles is insulated with PVC. Both Aluminum and brass handles are available in 6 inches and 7 inches.

Combo-Loops (combined loop and handle)

A range of NiChrome Wire Loops attached to light weight insulated aluminum handles is available. Combo-loops are non-calibrated and available in a range of loop sizes 2, 3, 4 and 5mm internal diameter (Ø). Combo-Loop handles are color coded to facilitate easy size identification. They offer the convenience of a ready-to-use loop and handle combination. Like regular NiChrome loops, Combo-Loops are sterilized between uses with an incinerator or Bunsen flame. The whole unit is designed to be discarded when the wire loop wears out.

TOOL GAUGES

Continual heating and cooling of the NiChrome Wire Loops to sterilize between use means there is always a risk that the 1µL and 10µL calibrated loops can become distorted or there is an excessive build up of burnt organic material on the surface of the loop. Both conditions can significantly alter the liquid volume delivered by the loop and hence the accuracy. Copan offers a simple QC procedure for checking the accuracy of the loops using a GoNoGo tool gauge for both 1µL and 10µL based upon the FDA Drill Bit Method for checking the calibration of metal loops.
